Causing Others To Sin 2

Causing others to sin is a very serious offense, especially grievous is causing others to reject Christ. I am guilty of that. I have caused others to sin and others have caused me to sin. How many of us need forgiveness for that sort of thing? We are commanded to love our neighbors, enemies and strangers. If we love them how can we not share the gospel with them? How can we not encourage them to receive Jesus? What is more important than that? How can we let them slide into Hell without a warning? How can we not pray for them? How can we live a life that will drive them away from the Lord? How can we set bad examples for others to follow?

2 Samuel 12:14: Howbeit, because by this deed thou (David) hast given great occasion to the enemies of the LORD to blaspheme, the child also that is born unto thee shall surely die.

We must realize that like David, when we sin before others, we too give them a reason to blaspheme God and to reject Jesus.

Mathew 5:16: Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Matthew 18:6: But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.

1 Corinthians 9:16: For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!

1 Peter 3:15: But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

Ezekiel 3:17-19: Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me. 18 When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand. 19 Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.

Ezekiel 33:8-9: When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand. 9 Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it; if he do not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.

Ephesians 4:11: And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

Believers are not all evangelists, pastors or teachers but all who have the Holy Spirit should support them in prayer, financially and with encouragement and they all have power to be witnesses for the Lord.

Acts 1:8: But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Romans 8:9b: . . . Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

If you are not doing your part, you are hindering others.
